the beginning of the round. On the same ch of the ch3, make {dc+ ch 1. Round
ends with sc on third ch of the first ch3} you now have 30 V stitch patterns.
ROUND3, 4:
slip st inside the first V pattern. Ch 3. ((V pattern (dc + ch2 + dc) inside
next V pattern)) repeat (( )) all around. Round ends as the one before.
Increase for
this pattern goes through increasing the number of dc for each V pattern. The
increase goes every fourth round of the previous increase
ROUND 5, 6, and
7: slip st inside the first V pattern. Ch 3. Dc inside same V pattern. (2 dc+ch2
+ 2dc) inside next V pattern and inside all other next V patterns all around.
Round ends with 2 dc inside the first V pattern which has ch3 and 1 dc. Ch1. Sc
on 3rd ch of the first ch3 made.
ROUNDS 8, 9,
10: Inside first V pattern make slip st.
+ Ch3 + 2 dc. Make (3dc + ch2 + 3dc) inside next V pattern. Repeat ( ) inside
all V patterns all around. You come to ch3+ 2dc you made at the beginning of
the round. Inside the same V pattern make 3dc. Ch1. Sc on 3rd ch of
the first ch3 you started the round with.
ROUNDS 11,
12, 13: Inside first V pattern make slip st + ch3 + 3dc. Make (4dc +ch2 + 4dc)
inside next V pattern. Repeat ( ) inside all next V patterns all around. You come to ch3+ 3dc you made at the
beginning of the round. Inside the same V pattern make 4dc. Ch1. Sc on 3rd
ch of the first ch3 you started the
round with.
Note:
After completing round 13, the desired size is met. If you find that you need
more rounds, you may choose one of two options:
A.
Repeat the same pattern in round 13 for
another round.
B.
Start a 5 dc V pattern for one or more
rounds.
Now the
pattern comes to separating the sleeves from the top part of the dress.
The total
number of V patterns is 30. Nine V patterns go for the front part and another
nine patterns go for the back part. The sleeves will have 6 V patterns for each
of them. The calculation goes like this:
9 V patterns
for the front
9 V patterns
for the back
6 V patterns
for right sleeve
6 V patterns
for left sleeve
9 + 9 + 6 +
6 =30
ROUND
14: Inside first V pattern make slp st +
ch3 + 3dc. Skip 5 V pattern groups. V pattern on next V pattern and on each of
next 8 V patterns. Skip next 5 V patterns. V pattern on each of next 8 V
patterns. You come to ch3+ 3dc you made
at the beginning of the round. Inside the same V pattern make 4dc. Ch1. Sc. on
3rd ch of the first ch3 you started the round with.
ROUND
15: Inside first V pattern make slp st +
ch3 + 3dc. V pattern on the next V pattern and on each of next V patterns. You come to ch3+ 3dc you made at the
beginning of the round. Inside the same V pattern make 4dc. Ch1. Sc. on 3rd ch of
the first ch3 you started the round with.
Repeat ROUND
15 for the next 7 rounds. The total number of rounds after splitting the
sleeves will be 9 rounds of V patterns. You may adjust the length of your dress
top by adding or decreasing more rounds.
CLOSING ROUND: Turn over (work will go on the back side of
the work). *Inside the ch1 space you are at, {make 7 dc by going through only
two loops for each, then yo and go through all 8 loops on the hook}. Sc on next
dc and on all next 7 dc. Inside the ch1 space repeat { }*.
Repeat between * * all around. You now have a total of 144 sc and 18
chickpea stiches. The total number must be dividable by 6 in order to go on for
the skirt special pattern. Round ends with slp. st. under first chickpea you
made. Turn over.
The Skirt part
Work will go on the front side of
the dress. The skirt will be made of two even rows repeated to gain the
desirable length

For this pattern, I repeated
Rounds 3 and 4 for 5 times. Then I made an increase by making 4dc instead of the
highlighted 3dc above. Work with this increase goes for another 5 round pairs.
You may add more round pairs to get the desired length.
Finalize the sleeves by adding
the Closing Round of the chickpea st. you made at the end of the top part. Work
goes like this:
Closing Round for the sleeves:

consists of 5 complete V pattern st. plus 3dc on each side directly before the
